VEET HALLOWEEN SPOTS

Another project is done! And this is one I'm very proud of! Working together with Henrique Barone and Cesar Martinez we developed Veet Horror Stories, a social media campaign for Halloween which was driven by 3 animated short stories, all focuses in the uncomfortable situations women undergo while waxing and portrayed them as horror movies. The goal was to highlight those painful moments and show how Veet can improve that experience with their products.

The whole concept was very fun and gave lots of room to create. With beautiful Art Direction, backgrounds and composting by Cesar and amazing animation by my dear Henrique, my role on it was to develop the Character Design, all very feminine, just the way I like it! Here I want to share a bit of the process.

To develop the girls for each spot, I started roughing out a bunch of ideas:

Then we picked 3 of them, one for each spot, and I continued developing. Here some of it after adjusting the design with all the needs of the campaign:

After finishing the girls, it was time to design the Beautician, our villain. She is the same on all the shorts, but I got the chance to play with different hair styles:

It all came together very well, I'm very glad with the final result. Hope it gives you some goosebumps! You can also check more making of material like composting breakdowns and more images on Cesar's Behance.

Thanks for watching! :)

SEASONS GIRLS

Since I moved to Canada I was able to experience more of the different seasons of the year and get more and more amazed by each one's details and singularities. Maybe if you're from here it can sound a little funny, but been from a Brazil, I have basically experienced the summer my whole life! haha

So I started illustrating a little series about seasons! More to come...

LIL' GIRLS WITH PETS

So I did some more little paintings! Now I painted a mini series of Lil' girls and their pets! Hope you like it! I used acrylics on paper.

PAINTING AGAIN

I felt like doing some real media painting again. I love the feeling cause it really reminds me of an awesome time when I would spend long afternoons at my mom and dad's workshop, watching them work and getting to paint all the time.

Down here the first two after a long while! :)

ILLUSTRATION - GLÜCK PROJECT

I did an illustration for one more amazing article of the Glück Project

This is a very inspirational blog to me, full of good thoughts, ideas and nice discussions about happiness. Highly recommended if you understand some portuguese! :)

DOODLEBOOK - FOR APEG

Here it is a bit of the process for this cool project I had the chance to help developing. The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientist of British Columbia - APEG - invited me to illustrate this fun and educational resource for children and their parents to learn more about the different types of jobs in their field.

Was very fun to receive all their material and think about the best way to illustrate each activities. To start, I had to design the 3 main Characters of the book. The couple of Robots, COG and SHALEY and the MAYOR of Innovatown, the city where everything happens. Down here a bit of the process and the final Designs:

After that was time to start on the activities, was fun to receive the material and learn a bit while developing each one. Here a bit of the process of how I translated the descriptions APEG's team sent me into illustrations:

Finally was time to develop the cover! I had fun giving the characters some colours and creating a Geoscience and Engineering based pattern. :)

And to finish this post, some pictures of the final product! I was very happy when I got the book, it made me remember of how much I enjoyed this kind of activities book when I was a kid, and I hope the kids have the same feeling with this one too! :D

CARTOON TRIBUTE

In the beginning of this year, I was invited by Vitor Martins to be part of Cartoon Tribute, a project with a super cool goal - 50 Brazilian artists. 50 days of tribute. 50 illustrations based on classic Cartoon Cartoons.

So I decided to go with one of my favorites on the list - Dexter Lab - and draw a little vintage portrait of the Family. Here it is the final result and a little bit of the process:

Before that I also tried another idea, having Dee and Mandy playing around with Johnny Bravo, I ended up giving up on that but here it is this rough too!

The project is still going on and there's a lot more to come, so you can follow it on Facebook and on Tumblr! Check it out! :)

PINGO SCULPTURE

I had for a while this piece of clay here at home, and today I decided to do something with it! So I did this little sculpture of Pingo, from Cléo e o Mapinguari! Here it is a bit of the process and the final piece. It's super nice to see your character out of the paper and I'm very happy that now I can have him on my desk! :)

To bad I just started taking pictures a little later in the process.

Now I'm wondering if I paint it or if I leave like this...

FELIZ NATAL!

2013 was a very special year for me, full of new experiences, dreams coming true and lots of learning. With all that, I'm full of plans for new projects and illustrations and I hope to be able to make it come true in 2014! Here, I wanna wish you all a very Beautiful Christmas, or like we say in Brazil, FELIZ NATAL and a 2014 full of new achievements! Thanks for everything! :)
